Nintendo, the maker of the Wii video game machine, does not have just one hit product on its hands. Rather, it has two.

While shoppers are still lining up before stores open to buy Nintendo’s Wii, its older portable sibling, the Nintendo DS, is the best-selling game machine in the United States. The hand-held DS outsold the Wii in November 1.53 million units to 981,000, according to sales figures compiled by NPD Group.

The DS, a 3-year-old $130 unit, has been handily outselling its chief rival, Sony’s $170 PSP handheld game device, as well as the newer and more expensive consoles, like Microsoft’s Xbox 360, selling for $350, and Sony’s PlayStation 3, which starts at $400.

Nintendo expects to finish the year having sold more than 6 million DS consoles, with a total of 15.2 million sold since they were introduced in November 2004. The best-selling game console this year, the Wii, has sold more than 5 million units this year, David Riley of NPD said.

Sony has sold 9.5 million PSP units in the United States since its introduction in March 2005.

Quicksave - Unreal Tournament III PS3 Review

In before 2008!

Just like how Epic Games slid Unreal Tournament III for the PS3 in before the holidays, QuickSave got their review up right before the new year.

From Quicksave:

"Unreal Tournament III (formerly known as Unreal Tournament 2007) is quite the “revolutionary” game for the console world, but aside from all these bells, whistles and technical flare, how does the game itself stack up? Do the visuals (as Epic claimed) exceed those of Epic’s Gears of War for the XBOX 360? Is the single player a real single player? Is mod support working? I spent time and sought the answers to these questions and here are my findings."

When "Must-Have" Games do not sell, who is to blame?

Gaming Console Network — By Sean Foster, Dec 30, 2007:

Sean was looking at the weekly "US" sales charts over at www.VGChartz.com when something completely dawned on him. Where in the hell was Uncharted: Drakes Fortune on the top 50? After all, the game has been acclaimed by many in the gaming community and was also on many lists around the net for Playstation 3 Game of the Year 2007. Uncharted: Drakes Fortune was nowhere to be found.

So seeing that made him think about a question for all of you, one that needs to be asked to the average gamer out there? When a "Must-Have" game comes out for a videogame system and it does not sell well, who is to blame?

Sean compared the sales numbers between three "Must-Have" games and three low-rated games.
