PS3 playing backups from HDD or USB

If this video is legit and the news is correct, the PS3 can play backups from HDD or USB with the Ottom@n Team PS3 loader. To be released 9 September.

That’s pretty soonish, so you all will know if it is the truth or a lie within a few weeks… If it’s true, Sony has a huge problem. BluRay isn’t the problem at all, so that copyright protection is pretty useless.

Bioshock makes Halo look ‘amateurish’: Review

Gamespot reviews Lair and gives it a 4.5

You shouldn’t play Lair. Not unless you have some morbid interest in experiencing what is quite possibly one of the worst control schemes ever devised. It’s a shame because as a cinematic experience, it’s stunning to watch. As a game, it’s a nightmare and an embarrassment. It sounds like a fantastic idea: You fly around on a dragon, spewing fire and clawing at other reptiles while generally wreaking havoc. Too bad you’re forced to use Sixaxis controls that destroy the possibility of fun and replace it with the constant need to scream expletives at your television screen

Microsoft Buying BlackBerry?

With continued rumors of Microsoft possibly buying out Research In Motion, the company that makes BlackBerries, the company’s stock price has reached an all-time high of $85.

The talks between Microsoft and RIM may be heating up, and most are naming the success of the iPhone and the growing potential of smart phones as causes for Microsoft’s rumored anxiety towards a buyout. A combined effort of Microsoft and BlackBerry technology could provide quite an offering for a hand held, and improved security measures is a noted reason for Microsoft’s interest.

Sony to Unplug Connect Music Service

“This gives customers greater flexibility in their music software approach”

Acknowledging its proprietary audio technology was a marketplace flop, Sony Corp. is shuttering its Connect digital music store and will open its portable media players to other formats.

The moves were announced Thursday at a Berlin consumer electronics trade fair as the Japanese electronics pioneer unveiled a pair of new digital Walkmans that can play the Windows Media Audio, MP3 and AAC audio formats.

Like rivals’ players, including Apple Inc.’s iPods, Sony’s NWZ-A810 and NWZ-S610 can also play video and display photographs. Sony’s models include an FM tuner, too. Read more

Capcom Shows its ready for Tokyo Game Show 07

Capcom’s Japanese Web site has just launched a 2007 Tokyo Game Show teaser page, giving some details of what will be shown at the event.

Titles like Devil May Cry 4 (both PS3 and Xbox 360), We Love Golf (Wii), Treasure Hunter Z (Wii), Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles (Wii), Sengoku Basara 2 (PS2), Rockman Star Force 2 (DS), and Wan! Tertainment Music Channel (DS) are listed. There are also three mystery boxes to keep us guessing.
