IGN reviews Lost Planet: Extreme Condition for PC

Fighting giant aliens in walking tanks is an idea frequently revisited within the science-fiction community. Just look at a large part of popular anime, Starship Troopers, Aliens - there are myriad examples. With games, such an idea seems popular since gamers tend to accept that any semblance of plot, character, or logic can be shoved out the door in favor of flashy graphics and the ability to detonate satisfyingly sizable amount of explosives. Lost Planet adheres to such a notion.

Acclaim PC Games Getting the CD/DVD Treatment

When most people think of Acclaim, chances are they still remember the company that made such titles as Turok: Dinosaur Hunter and Vexx. For others, the name evokes that warm and fuzzy feeling that can only come from a company that now specializes in massively multiplayer online games. That is, of course, because only a few years ago the company name was revived (after the original Acclaim went bankrupt) and is now being used to distribute said fuzzy feeling-inducing games. While the games are free to download and play (Acclaim now makes its money on advertising and in-game items you can purchase), it seems they still aren’t as accessible as some would like.

Ex-ELSPA Bennett Slams Successor’s Manhunt 2 Stance

Roger Bennett is sorely missed. The ex-director general of UK games regulator ELSPA has come out strongly in favour of Rockstar over the BBFC in the case of the recent Manhunt 2 ban, while strongly criticising ELSPA’s decision to quickly jump to the support of the censors.
